Residency Year Overview

One-on-One Coaching

Receive personalized feedback and support from an experienced Mentor Resident Coach. They will be assigned to you day one and be with you throughout the entire year and past graduation.

Graduate Level Coursework

Select and complete your Master’s degree in one year. Choose from a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.T) or a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from DePaul University or National Louis University.

In-Classroom Experience

Your student teaching begins right away in September and ramps up throughout the year.

A Built-In Support System

Be with like-minded individuals who are just as inspired as you are to make a difference in education. During your time in the residency, you’ll partner with other residences in your content and grade levels to develop tight-knit communities.

Job Placement

Part of the Residency experience is a commitment to teach in an AUSL-Managed Chicago Public School upon graduation. In the last five years, 77% of our Residents are still employed with Chicago Public Schools, and some are now Principals!
